One more Dutch recipe, very simple and using simple ingredients, but still very tasty. It requires little work, just some waiting.
500-600g beef
1 small red cabbage
1 big onion
2 carrots
spices- black pepper, bay leaves, bazilic, coriander
some salt
300ml red dry wine
1/4 of bread loaf
butter
In a big and heavy pan melt butter, add meat and wait until it turns golden-brown. Then add spices, onion, carrots and cabbage. Cook for several minutes and pour wine. Cover with a lid, lower the heat and cook for about 2,5 hours, until the meat is soft.
Melt some butter in a frying pan, wallow (roll) bread slices in butter and put on top of meat.
Heat grill and place meat with bread on top under it for 5 minutes, untill golden.
Serve.
Bon Appétit !
