Today is again indonesian meat. I simply think one can't get enough of this cuisine. Well, maybe can, but it will take a while....
500-600 g beef (cut into thin stripes)
500ml coconut milk
80g ground coconut
1tb.s. tamarind juice (i heard you can substitute with lime juice+brown sugar)
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
3 cloves
2 stalks lemon grass
vegetable oil
pinch of coriander
pinch of black pepper
1/4t.s. aniseed
40g red chili
2-3 medium onions
1t.s. ginger
salt
On hot oil stir fry all the spices, add beef and leave for a short while. Then add onion, coconut. Simmer and stir until the meat is tender and the juice gets thicker. Then add tamarind juice and wait for 5 more minutes. Serve hot. We had white rice with that.
